Assessments

Irene offers a selection of Assessment Services for children, teens, and adults.

  • Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Assessments will use targeted testing to aid in diagnosing ADHD specifically.
  • Socio-Emotional Assessments will assist in diagnosing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression and other mood disorders.
  • Psychoeducational Assessments (also referred to as educational assessments or psychoed. assessments) will help to diagnose learning disabilities or challenges, giftedness, ADHD, and emotional/behavioural disorders.
  • Some targeted assessments can be performed as requested by private insurance agencies, law offices, and employers.

Assessment Types

Psychoeducational Assessment

An assessment for learning disabilities, challenges and ADHD. This type of assessment is often required to receive academic support & adjustments in a learning environment.

  • Administration of background questionnaire & behavioural screening questionnaires.
  • Cognitive & educational testing (2-4 hours).
  • Clinical interview (2 hours).
  • Analysis of documentation & scoring of assessment tools, consultation.
  • Written assessment report, recommendations & specific academic suggestions and referrals.
  • Debrief session.

ADHD Assessment

An assessment for ADHD that includes:

  • Administration of background questionnaire & an ADHD Screener.
  • 2 hour clinical interview (in person or remote).
  • Analysis of documentation & scoring of assessment tools.
  • Assessment report, recommendations & tip sheets.
  • Debrief session.

Socioemotional Assessment

An assessment for PTSD, anxiety, depression and other mood disorders.

  • Administration of background questionnaire & behavioural screening questionnaires.
  • Cognitive & educational testing (2-4 hours).
  • Mental health screening.
  • Clinical interview (2 hours).
  • Analysis of documentation & scoring of assessment tools, consultation.
  • Written assessment report, recommendations & specific academic suggestions and referrals.
  • Debrief session.

Booking an Assessment

Irene typically completes assessments on Wednesdays or Fridays. She is currently booking 2-3 months out for most assessment types.

To book an assessment, please contact us at info@irenespelliscy.com with some background information and the type of assessment you are seeking.

Step One: Contact Us
Step Two: Pay Administration Fee

*not applicable to Adult ADHD Assessments

  • This fee that is included in the full cost of the assessment, but is non-refundable in the case of cancellation.
  • This can be paid via e-transfer to irene@irenespelliscy.com (use password “green1”, or by cheque made out to  “Irene Spelliscy”.
Step Three: Intake Package

Complete the intake package which includes intake & consent forms, background questionnaire(s), and screening questionnaires pertaining to your type of assessment.

Step Four: School/Teacher Intake

If the assessment pertains to a child in a learning environment, with your permission please provide their school/teacher’s contact information so we can work together with them on collecting background information

Step Five: Other Documentation

Send over any other relevant documentation, including any past assessment reports.

Step Six: Attend Assessment

Once the above is submitted, we will confirm an assessment date. The assessment will take place in person at Irene’s office.

Step Seven: Attend Debrief Appointment

Once your assessment appointment is completed, it will take Irene 4-6 weeks to complete your assessment report. Upon completion of the report, she will book a 30-60minute appointment to review the contents of the report with you. Once you review it together, you will be provided with a copy of the report as well as resources and any appropriate referrals based on the results of the assessment..
